
Jhal muri is a delicious street food, quick snack made with Muri (puffed rice) / pori as main ingredients. Vegetables, spice powders added along with tangy ingredients and magic ingredient mustard oil.
I have not tasted jhal muri before, I thought it would taste like the Beach style kaara pori I already posted. But the flavour was so different and really loved this quick snack. There are many variations available with this I guess. But what I have shared is made up with the ingredients I had. The vegetables that go in can vary, but the main ingredient that is unique flavour in this is mustard oil.

Ingredients
- Puffed rice -2 cups
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 1
- Cucumber, small - 1
- Peanuts, roasted - 1/4 cup
- Green chilli - 2
- Coriander leaves - 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice - 2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Roasted cumin seeds powder - 1/2 tsp
- Black salt - 1/4 tsp
- Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard oil - 1 tsp
- Sev - 1/4 cup
Method
- Gather all the ingredients needed for the recipe. Mix all the dry ingredients first.
- Lastly add lemon juice, oil and mix well. Top with sev and serve.
Notes
- You can use 1/2 lemon juice and half tamarind pulp too. I forgot to add tamarind pulp.
- Add black salt and chaat masala carefully as both has salt in it.
- Use all fresh ingredients.
